Selamat datang to Ria Ayam Penyet - Founded by Ibu Ruth, this family-owned restaurant has been humbly serving true Indonesian food across South-East Asia for decades. To some, Ria is the taste of home, a nostalgic weekend family lunch at one of the many Riaβs across Indonesia. For others, itβs the taste of adventure, their first bite into a crispy Indonesian smashed chicken while on a business trip in Singapore. Now celebrating the flavours and handed-down family traditions of Indonesian street food on the streets of Australia. With no compromise of flavour and spices, staying true and authentic since 1998. Experience Ria, experience Indonesia.

So delicious. Friendly staff, easy to order. So many good options on the menu too. Place was very busy which is a great sign. Would recommend and also come back here again. The prices were reasonable.

My wife and I came here and we thoroughly enjoyed all the food that was on offer. Prices are really low and the quality of the food being served is really high - I would highly recommend this to anyone who craves Indonesian cuisine and is in the CBD.

Omg everything we tried was so good! Their grilled beef ribs is so tender and delicious, chicken satay was juicy, nasi kapau has authentic taste and beef rendang was melt in mouth. Great price, generous portion. Highly recommend

Highly recommend Delicious and so convenient coz close by my office Brought my team for lunch and all of them praised the delicious food! Back again with my colleague and she like the nasi kapau, i order batagor but must buy chilli on the side hmmm π§

The food very delicious similar with original Indonesia dishes. Be careful with Sambal Bawang, it was very hot. For those who cant take spicy, choose peanut sauce or sambal bawang. Soto betawi was good, batagor was good. Price was reasonable

Food was amazing. Service is even better. Greeted and served by a young gentleman with curly yellow hair. He was superb accommodating with our family with an infant. π

My favourite at Ria Ayam Penyet is the juicy duck and the delicious, smoky SATEEEEEE thatβs always bursting with flavor. The portions are generous, the sambal adds the perfect kick, and itβs a place I love returning to for authentic Indonesian food.

Iβve loved Ria long before they opened in Melbourne CBD. I used to visit them in Perth and it was always my go-to spot for ayam penyet. The chicken is perfectly cooked and packed with flavour, but what truly seals the deal is their sambal chilli, spicy with that addictive garlicky kick. Now that theyβre in Melbourne, I also tried their grilled beef and wowβ¦ instantly my new favourite . So tender, so flavourful!

The grilled beef ribs ($19, without rice) were full of flavour, and the meat fell right off the bone. I especially loved the tempe penyetβand itβs great that you can add extra for just $1.50. It was my first time trying lontong ($2) (rice cakes). I expected something similar to Korean rice cakes, but they werenβt chewy at all. Instead, they were more like sticky coconut rice with a slightly sweet taste. The sate ayam ($14.90) and ayam geprek sambal ($13.50, without rice) were both delicious, with juicy and tender chicken. The nasi kapau beef ($19) was spicier than I expected, but still really flavourful.

Really love this place! The ayam penyet was super crispy outside and tender inside, and the sambal had the perfect spicy kick (careful, itβs hot but so good). Portions are generous and the prices are fair.

Gado Gado was fresh and plentiful. Service was quick, making it ideal for theatre goers at Her Majestys. Excellent value - worth more than what they charge.
