Best authentic Medanese home-style food in town—flavours bold, portions generous, and every bite tastes just like home.

Such a warm hug when I eat this kind of food and makes me feel close to home, fish ball soup was so comforting. Hekeng is really good and filled with prawns. Please show some support to these guys doing amazing home cooked meals ❤️

The food here is excellent - both the ready made and off the menu. It's a clean and simple plastic table environment with very friendly owners. So lucky to have this place in Darlington - no need to travel to Kingsford or the city for Indo food!!!

Absolute hidden gem, this is the place to try if you want legit Chinese Indonesian food and also eat it in the more familiar share style. Must try Samcan goreng, golden prawn, ayam harum manis, steamed pomfret, Hekieng. Such a homesick cure.

We heard the recommendation from friends and we take an initiative to prove it ourself by drive from Northwest area to Eastern suburbs to prove it, and Cin Yen nail it very authentic and unique food especially from Medan cuisine. We are amazed and impressed with the tastes of the food. Of course without doubt, we strongly recommend this place, just park your car behind the block and with short distance of walk you can reach this location, just be aware about the parking time limit due to parking ranger patrol quiet often. Thank you to chefs and Cin Yen teams

Comfort food, food is so delicious and service is excellent, the price is affordable too with good portion. The taste is really similar to the one in your hometown, even my parents said it’s the best indonesian restaurant you’ve ever found in sydney👌always looking forward for my next visit.

A homely taste of Medan Chinese food ! Tried this little eatery due to the high ratings on google and I must say than I'm glad I did. The Crispy Pork Belly with their house made green chili sauce is AMAZING. The Bee Hoon soup is nicely balanced with a small ginger kick. Also tried the Assam soup and the new Fried Chicken Mango Salad. Love the food and friendly service. Looking forward to visit again.

Home style Medanese food, perfect for homesick people who miss their hometown food. Some of the food is overpriced but worth it. We ordered chinese broccoli stir fry with pork belly, fried battered prawn with mayo and stir fry chilli prawn. Everything is really yummy and good portion, especially the chilli prawn is really spicy and delicious. The location is near the light rail stop so easy to access and since this place is homestyle, we wait a little bit longer for the food to come out.

No doubt Cin Yen is by far the closest taste to my hometown cooking!!. They have been very popular in Indonesia especially in city like Medan and Jakarta for generation. Some dishes come with their own sauces which made it more authentic. Did you notice their Kwetiao noodles are different? Because they made their own Kwetiao noodles!!

Always love cinyen when it comes to the quality of the food! The crispy samcan (pork belly) is to die for! The owners are really lovely, we tried the goat curry today and it is amazing ! Thumbs up!

Ordered food for take away (we BYO glass containers and they happily accepted that :) We had their seafood kwetiaw (seafood rice noodles), Hekien (pork and prawn wrapped in tofu skin and deep fried) and Ayam tangkap (Aceh World Famous Fried Chicken). They were all delicious and make me miss home cooked medanese meals. The fried chicken makes me so nostalgic of the ones I’d have at home. Thank you Cin Yen!

Amazing food as always, their Medanese take on Char Kway Teow can be said to be best in Sydney. The cap cay (stir fried vegetables) is the bomb

Amazing family owned authentic Indonesian food that cooks and made from the heart. Simple restaurant, located on the second floor through the stairs from the street. Been here 3 times the past month since I discovered it and quickly become my go to for a reliable, great taste foods. Amazing mayonnaise prawn, like no other. All their food hits right on the taste buds. For people who reckon the order service are slower, that's because it truly is a local and family operated, be glad to support a local business. However the cooking is SO FAST! We've never had to wait long even when we are in large groups. Can't recommend them enough for the taste! Support a local business, get to know the owner. You'll appreciate the food even more!

We visited this restaurant for a quick lunch on Sunday recently and ordered a few of their signature dishes i.e. the fried pork in sweet & sour sauce, the Medan-style stir-fried rice noodle w/ egg and the stir-fried roast crispy pork with green veggie (similar to <i>kana moo grob</i> in Thai restaurant). All dishes are of good quality and prepared in authentic Indo-Chinese and Medan style cooking. We especially love the humble stir-fried rice noodle (<i>kue tiaw</i>) with egg which has smoky <i>wok-hei</i> aroma and subtle less soy-sauce taste. The ambience of the place was good since the place has reasonable space and good light. The customer service from floor staff was also reasonable. Prices on menu are good value for your money considering good quality and reasonable portion of the dishes. You can pay by credit cards and will pay between 1% to 2% additional surcharge depending on your spending level. This is not an ideal practice, but since their dishes' prices are quite good value for money, I would not mind too much.

UPDATED: Came back after a year - still good! The stir fried seafood kway teow was nice, and somehow not too greasy. The green hot sauce is 🔥 … ORIGINAL: Had egg noodles with crispy pork belly, nice flavour in the soup and noodles had a great bouncy texture. Would eat again (along with other tempting items on the menu).
