My friends and I spent a truly memorable evening at one of Melbourne’s finest Indonesian restaurants. From the first bite, the flavours transported me straight back to the vibrant streets of home, with each dish steeped in authenticity and nostalgia. What made the night even more special was the warmth of the staff, especially the beautiful and stunning waitress, whose kindness and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression. She not only served with grace but also captured our joy in a Polaroid photo, a keepsake that sealed the evening with a personal touch. While the food delighted my taste buds, it was her service that truly captured my heart. I’ll definitely be returning—for the cuisine, and perhaps, the company *wink wink.”* 😏

This place is so underrated! I would recommend anyone that wants to try authentic Indonesian food to come and try their delicious food. This place should deserve more recognition not only for its delicious food but also for their friendly and welcoming customer service. The food tastes so good that my siblings and I came for a round two in one weeks!😄

D’Penyetz and D’Cendol is one of my favourite Indo and cheap eats places. They have great flavours and loads of variety, even for vegetarians. I love to get the noodles, and tried something different this time which was a Tofu Scrambled Egg. Flavours were so good!

If you love durian, you have to try their durian dessert! That one spoonful of durian—chef's kiss, sooo good~ But the Cendol was a little too sweet for me because of the palm sugar… just a bit too much haha. 1. IKAN BAKAR BALI ($25.90) Grilled fish with sweet Balinese sauce. The fish was tender and juicy, and the sauce had a nice sweet and slightly tangy taste. Pretty good, I liked it! 💕 Must Try 💕 2. KEPITING LUNAK CEREAL ($29.50) Soft shell crab coated in crispy cereal flakes—so crunchy on the outside, yet still juicy inside! Reminds me of the Hong Kong-style cereal prawns, but with that Indonesian spice kick. Super fragrant and flavourful, LOVED this one! 3. MIE GORENG KAMPUNG ($18.90) Fried noodles with chicken satay. A bit on the sweet side, but had great wok hei (that smoky stir-fried flavour). The chicken was well-marinated too. Definitely the safest dish for those who don’t eat spicy. 4. UDANG BAKAR MADU ($19.80) Grilled honey tiger prawns. Cooked perfectly—springy and sweet. Best part? They peeled almost all the shells for us, except the head and tail, haha. Just pop it in your mouth and enjoy! 5. AYAM PENYET ASLI KHAS D’PENYETZ – SAMBAL TERASI ($12.90) Their signature smashed fried chicken did not disappoint! Crispy outside, juicy inside. And that sambal… spicy, but sooo satisfying. If you love a good kick of heat, you need to try this!

Service is fast. The food portion is big enough for 2 people for a tourist like me. Food tastes good. Sambal is delicious but a little too spicy for me.

Me and my friend came to this place for the first time, ambience is decent seating are good (no neighbouring seats overlap) coming to service they treat you very well , these people know what they're servicing ; we tried chicken and clam.... clam was amazing I would come back for this , food proportion was also great we had to take away. Pricing wise it's good budget friendly place.

Prime location right on China Town food street. Modern and sleek interior. Bright ambience. Limited seating, expect to wait for a while if you’re visiting on a weekend. On their menu they’ve mentioned spice levels, and don’t take those lightly. I ordered a spicy grilled fish and couldn’t handle it without a glass of water. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Best Indonesian food offering variety dishes including desserts in Melbourne CBD. Highly recommend to try their seafood selection which offers such rich taste of spices. Their cendol is also amazing and refreshing as a palate cleanser to end the meal.

It’s pretty much self service, you order and pay by scanning the QR code. The chicken was cooked so well, crunchy yet not dry. I tried level 3 spicy level, it was just right! Their traditional Indonesian drinks are great too, definitely worth trying the lemon tea and bandung drink.
