Had a delicious meal after work with my friends tonight! Located in a very convenient part of Sydney CBD/Town Hall, the food was quick to arrive and freshly prepared. The staff were kind and efficiently working and had good vibes. I recommend the smashed fried chicken, the grilled marinated beef ribs, the tofu scrambled egg special with peanut sauce, and the stir fried water spinach. We ate really well that I didn’t take any more photos which is a sign of a good restaurant experience

The Ayam Penyet Sambal Balado (level 3 spicy sambal chicken) and Iga Penyet Jakarta (fried beef ribs with maybe sweet soy sauce) are both delicious - especially that sambal comes with the beef ribs, it’s so addictive I’d slather it on anything. The dishes taste so much better than they look. The chicken rice noodles were lighter but still tasty, though compared with the other dishes it didn’t stand out. Can’t wait to try more from their menu!

My husband and I really miss Indonesian food. and when we went to Sydney, one of the destinations we wanted to try this restaurant. and we really liked it. The taste was good, the portions were reasonable and the staff were friendly. If I go to Sydney, I will definitely come here again.

So glad they have a restaurant located in the city. The food never disappoints. I always go here for my nasi goreng whenever I'm in Sydney. Friendly service and the food came out relatively quickly. Limited seating in the store though

Went to try their smashed fried chicken, and it did not disappoint! The chicken is full of flavor, and the sauces complement it perfectly. Great spice level options to suit any taste. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Ayam Grepek and Ayam Penyet with different levels of spiciness of your choice. I have yet to try everything. Sambal matah on Ayam grepek here is very tasty. Perfect to go with rice and finish with a bottle of teh pucuk.

I’ve dined at their Burwood location before and absolutely loved it, so when the new city outlet opened, I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, the food quality was disappointing at first — I received burnt beef ribs, undercooked rice, and dirty plates. However, after giving it a few more chances, the quality improved significantly. Now, it’s one of my go-to spots whenever I’m craving Indonesian food. The only downside is that the place is a bit small, but overall, it's definitely worth the visit!

The happiest place to go, best sambal and spicy.They have variaties of chicken fry cook in indonesia style and dont miss their grilled fish Feel like everday j can eat here. Been to burwood and cbd branches and they also give fast service. Especially to the lady called Afung , thanks for taking care of my family when we went there for dinner. Recommended

The food can cure my homesickness. I ordered Ayam Bumbu Madura (which was spicy as hell, just like how it should be) and Cendol Nangka (good to reduce the heat. My friends ordered Iga Bakar (which was tender and tasty), Ayam Sambal Ijo, Sayur Asam and Nasi Goreng (which was delicious and has a generous portion) Their sambal really kicks, mate. We were sweating, red face, runny nose. Just what you expect from a good serving of sambal While the place itself is not too spacious and had no washtaffel, they provide plastic gloves for those who want to eat by hand, and the tasty food could compensate the shortcomings

Came to their city store for the first time for a late lunch. Was after 2pm and it was still very busy (good sign!). Anyhow, I was very hungry - so ordered a spicy grilled chicken and also one smashed chicken. Plus rice and also a drink (of course). Everything was on point. I'd definitely come back and try more of their grilled chickens. Spicy one was spicy - so the sweet drinks went down well after the feed. Overall, a solid experience. Thank you 😀🙏 P.s. 2% charge if you pay via card. And its Halal. Date of visit - 25th Sept 24

Went in for dinner and ordered the smashed chicken (ayam geprek), beef ribs (iga bakar) and ayam penyet asli (original chicken). Was quite impressed with all the food. The smashed chicken was crispy and moist. The iga bakar was nice with perfect fat to meat ratio and glaze (most probably the best iga I’ve tasted in a long time), the fried chicken was also great. Customer service was great and tables were cleared very fast which was great considering the restaurant was semi small and the queue was quite healthy. Portion size of the smashed chicken and iga bakar was very generous.

The chicken is really amazing. It was crispy, flavorful and juicy on the inside. The sambal was also great — if you’re looking for hot/spicy this is what you need, you’ll never have short of it

The staff were friendly and the service was fast! The food was delicious — especially the chili, super spicy just the way I like it. The squid wasn’t fishy at all, really fresh. Definitely coming back to try other dishes!

First time visited Depenyet Indonesian restaurant in Sussex St Sydney , I had the best Indonesian “Ayam Bakar” with level 2 spicy and my fav dessert Ice Cendol with glutinous sticky rice again perfect sweetness and the cendol was so delicious 😋. The cashier lady’s (Ci Afung) was so welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Sydney for best Indonesian restaurant and excellent service!!! Terima kasih Ci Afung!!!

Ordered durian cendol and fried calamari with rice. The cendol tastes good and the calamari is crispy. Service is fast and the staff is friendly! Overall, it's a good experience. Will definitely come back here!

Absolutely loved this place! The vibe was so chill, perfect for a relaxed night out. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home from the start. The foods were full of flavor and just the right portion. Drinks were on point, too. You can tell they really care about the little details here. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for a cozy spot with great food and good energy!

A piece of indonesian taste right in the center of Sydney! Afung and team always give the most excellent n exceptional entertaining yet comfy service to me and my fellas each time we re there. Been hanging around ever since in Burwood up until they open up here in city, especially Afung with her million dollars smile
