Nice small Indonesian eatery. Seating capacity of about 20 persons. On the main road on ground floor, Quick and tasty food prepared with 5 levels of spiciness. Normal spicy means barely spicy. Tell the level of spiciness at the time of placing order. A meal for 1 person would cost AUD16-18. Portions are good. They donβt serve alcohol or beer in any form . They accept credit cards.

Highly recommended . This Grilled Chicken set is so good . The best I have ever had with very good price. I tried the Grilled Chicken Ayam Goreng Shalom with 5 stars chilli sauce . It tastes super good and super spicy . Must try this if you can eat spicy . Otherwise they have 4 stars or 3 stars spicy level. I really hope they can keep this special price for longer .

A great dinner option in Mascot. We had the ayam bakar penyet with sweet sour sauce - it had nice and thin, lightly crispy well-rendered skin, and tender meat that was well-marinated and came easily off the bone. We also had the nasi goreng petai (stink bean) - the beans are slightly bitter but not as intimidating as the name suggests - do give them a try! The nasi goreng ayam comes with slices of fried chicken fillet, which turned out to be flavourful and juicy (good amount of dark meat) - delicious! The ice tea in a bottle is sweet and tastes a little bit like the classic grass jelly drink in a can, minus the jelly.

I recently dined at Shalom Indonesian Restaurant in Mascot, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped inside, I felt right at home. Letβs talk about the food! Shalom offers a sumptuous array of authentic Indonesian cuisine. Each dish bursts with vibrant flavors and aromatic spices. Here are some highlights: Spicy Chilli Sauce: Their famous spicy chilli sauce is a must-try. Itβs the perfect balance of heat and flavor, elevating every dish it accompanies. Chicken Rendang: Tender chicken slow-cooked in a rich coconut and spice blend. The flavors are deep and comforting, leaving you craving more. Beef Satay: Grilled skewers of marinated beef served with peanut sauce. The meat is succulent, and the sauce is an explosion of nutty goodness. Soto Ayam: A fragrant chicken soup with rice noodles, herbs, and a hint of lime. It warms your soul and satisfies your taste buds. Service Excellence: The staff at Shalom Indonesian Restaurant truly embody the spirit of hospitality. They are attentive, friendly, and passionate about sharing their culture through food. Whether youβre a seasoned Indonesian cuisine enthusiast or a first-timer, theyβll guide you through the menu with enthusiasm. Final Thoughts: Shalom Indonesian Restaurant Mascot is more than just a place to eat; itβs an experience. I highly recommend visiting Shalom for an unforgettable culinary journey.

Lovely customer service, the girl that took my order also recommended the best vegetarian choices and I was really happy. Excellent nasi goreng. Nothing wrong with the eggplants, but not worth it. The tofu and noodles were great as well.

Cheap and cheerful, flavourful and fantastic Indonesian food. Lots of options to cater for different preferences and love that there was Teh Kotak. The sambal was absolutely wild - my tongue was hottttt for a minute but quickly settled with more food. Bring cash for purchases under $10 as minimum EFTPOS spend is $10.

The nasi goreng with iga is absolutely delicious. The meat is really tender and well seasoned. The mie ayam is also not too bad. The portions are big and definitely still hot when I eat them at home.

Their nasi bungkus is unbeatable, packed with flavor, generous portions, and wrapped just like how we remember it back home. Their nasi goreng is full of flavour , just the way Indonesians love it. Their iga bakar? Fall off the bone tender, perfectly charred, and slathered in a sweet-spicy glaze. And the bebek ,crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and served with sambal that packs a punch. Always love their food Very highly recommend for Indonesian missing home or anyone that wants to try Indonesian food ππ»

I haven't have Indonesian food for a long while. I travelled to Sydney for a short trip last weekend and stayed at my best friend's place in Mascot. We walked past this restuarant, so decided to give it a try. We weren't disappointed at all. We ordered the Gado Gado (my favourite), the Beef Ribs with Rujak sauce and Chedol. Food was authentic and delicious. It brought back lots of memories when I was in Jakarta. The size of the dishes was fine and enough for both of us.
