We have been passing by this shop for years, and decided to give it a go and generally pretty impressed with their flavours. Nasi Campur (we added Tempeh) is surely worth, and Nasi Timbel wasnt bad either.

halal indonesian cuisine. i think the fried chicken is better than the grilled chicken. the rujak is a sweet sauce with zero spice, and the balinese has a veryyyyy slight spice. always eat it with the sweet soy sauce provided on the table. iced water is free, self service. been here quite a few times already. places are a bit limited so if ur a big group on peak hour might be hard to get a seat.

I go here whenever I miss home, and food’s always great. The service is amazing, staff are super nice, place’s comfy. Most importantly, the sambal’s spicy (as it always should be)! Absolutely love their avocado juice by the way (as an avid Indonesian avocado juice enthusiast). They’re halal-certified too! Just the best, really. 🥰

I really enjoy the food. It is neither spicy nor sweet, with a really good taste. Soup with rice is always my favorite. The people are friendly; everything is good.

This is the one and only, set menu who served with vegetable soup "sayur asem". So you no need to order extra vege for your meal.

Homestyle Indonesian cooking that is high on the natural flavours and low on the saltiness of most Asian meals. For the entree I had the spring rolls which were crisp and firm and were not dripping in oil. I had the satay chicken which was juicy and covered with a natural, oil free peanut sauce. All up incl the boiled rice - $23.25. The restaurant was clean and the service punctual. Overall a nice place to dine alone or with company.

Had the Simple Set Grilled Chick and it was delicious, especially the soup. The portions are filling & decently priced, the owners & employees are very nice.

I love this place!! I got the veeery spicy grilled chicken, and it was really great. Good portion, amazing chilli sauce, and delicious sauce on the chicken too which was tasty on its own too. Really simple but delicious meal

Authentic Indonesian restaurant. Good price and delicious food. The portions are also really big. Their chili was really authentic and spicy. Theres so many options to choose from.

Food here is good. Their sambal is really a bomb! Fresh, spicy, tangy and goes so well with almost anything on the table. Even with just steamed rice. We ordered fried chicken skin which is great (the turmeric scent is great), fried chicken, nasi campur and lamb satay plus some chicken liver and giblets. The service here is super friendly.

We order these 2 nice dishes from shalom restaurant for lunch. The bakso is so delicious and the sauce is brings up the flavour. Give 10 out of 10 for their bakso. The nasi kuning is ok. Will come bck for another dish The lady work there alone. But service is very quick. Happy customer we are. 😍

Four of us ordered 10 dishes, tempe, aubergine, beef soup, satay, fish, duck and beef ribs, I have to say all of them are delicious. I am not new the Indonesian food but I found this restaurant is the probably the best in Sydney!

If you miss Indonesian food with various kinds if spicy sauce, this place will be your best choices. Can speak Indonesian too. Normally the chicken parts served qould be the thigh but in fact we can ask for breast.

Lovely Gado Gado $13 for takeaway. Good amount of fried tofu and flavoursome peanut sauce. Decent portions. Would come back for more.

Shalom is an unassuming Indonesian restaurant on one end of the line of eateries on Anzac Parade, and they're serving up some of the best satay chicken skewers! The chicken is juicy and charred, and the sauce is perfect—flavourful and moreish with a barbequed aroma—goes well with chicken; even better with rice. The beef balls were fried so they were crispy around the edges with a nice, bouncy texture inside. The rujak sauce was tasty but quite salty. IG: @shazlikesponies

Very nice and authentic Indonesian food, I really enjoyed the meals. The chilli is proper spicy too. We ordered a few different dishes and they were all great. The beef ribs was tender, chicken noodle was delicious, the sour veggie soup was how I remembered it, and Siomay Bandung was very close to how it was back in Indonesia. Overall very positive and would definitely come back again if I’m in the area.
