I’ve been to their China town branch and we loved the spicy fish, so this time we tried this one at Lygon street. This one is good too but seating is a bit too congested. They have some seriously spicy options if you’re after spicy food. I’ll be going there again.

We’ve been loyal takeaway customers here for years — and it’s all about the Ikan Bakar Aroma Special. Always smoky, tender, and beautifully paired with their punchy sambal balado (perfect heat level for an Aussie palate). While the food never disappoints, the dine-in experience could be warmer — so after our first dine-in experience, we’ve always opted for takeaway and enjoy this favourite at home. The kitchen delivers — consistently, though.

I came here today and ordered the mee goreng cooked by their new chef, David — and wow, it absolutely blew me away! The noodles were perfectly wok-fried, every bite bursting with flavor, with just the right balance of spice, sweetness, and smokiness. Honestly, it reminded me of eating mee goreng in Bali last week — that kind of holiday, seaside, but right here in Melbourne! David may be new, but he cooks like a seasoned chef. The passion and heart he puts into the dish can be tasted in every mouthful. Hands down, one of the best mee goreng I’ve had in years. Keep it up, chef David — you’ve just won a loyal customer whose is me - 最接近神的男人 Bruce. 👏👏👏

First time eating here and it was soooo worth it. Prices are great, food is cooked to order got and crispy with lots of flavour and spice! Really enjoyed the fried enoki and the fried chicken is delish. VERY allergy friendly; I have a lot of allergies and they were very considerate and mindful of what I was given and made alterations to the meal. Really appreciated that. I would definitely recommend and will be coming back soon!

Recommend this Indonesian restaurant serving up great tasting, delicious, classic Indonesian dishes. Authentic tastes, generous portion sizes, good menu variety, amazing chicken, and beef dishes. Friendly staff, kitchen service was efficient. Located at the city end of Lygon street accessible to main Lygon street area.

Probably my favourite little place to eat in Melbourne. Great atmosphere, always good service and the food is excellent. Really good menu of simple dishes like noodles to more complex seafood dishes. Always have a good time here and the food in every dish has been great. If you like spice, also a good place to visit as they have different spice levels. Green chili level is a mild/medium with red being the highest (and best!). Highly recommended

Just had the best meal at this Indonesian restaurant — the food is authentic, delicious, and downright addictive. I ordered the fried rice with fried chicken and egg, and wow, it was crispy, flavorful, and hit all the right spots. Oh, and if you like half-cooked eggs, just look at this... OMG, it’s perfection on a plate! The service was super fast, and the environment was so cozy, I almost didn't want to leave. Seriously, if you’re craving some next-level Indonesian food, this place is a must. Highly recommend — just prepare to get hooked!

Everything is perfect. It’s a place to go to when we can’t decide what to eat because the foods will never go wrong. Meat & seafoods are all fresh. Lemon tea is a must order drink in carlton branch.

an authentic Indonesian Restaurant that could make you feel in Asia. ——— Their Calamari🦑is A MUST ORDER! I am addicted to it already!🙊Blame them🤣🤣 First time I tried their Fish🐟, and I love it! Very flavorful!✨ And the Chicken Skewers🍢! Oh I love the peanut sauce and the taste of the chicken were just a perfect combination 👌🏻😚😚

Delicious Indonesian food in Carlton. There’s a few Indonesian restaurants in a row here, and this is one of my favourites. There’s several vegetarian options to choose from, including the Mi Goreng, Nasi Goreng, and a yummy Jackfruit Curry. The stand out for me is the enoki mushroom as a side. I love the cheese powder one. Tempe and tofu are tasty and well cooked on vegetarian options. If you’re into dessert and want to try something different the Signature bowl is great and I really enjoyed it. Though it may not be for everyone due to its unusual flavours! You can order on QR code or with staff. Atmosphere is nice and good place to bring friends.

Our dining experience was a true culinary adventure. From the barramundi with their signature sauce to the smashed chicken with level 4 spice sambal and the delectable cereal soft shell crab, every dish was a masterpiece of authentic Indonesian flavors. Each bite packed a spicy punch that awakened the taste buds and left us craving for more. What truly impressed us was the attention to detail, especially in deboning the fish, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, we absolutely loved every dish and appreciated the restaurant's dedication to delivering genuine Indonesian cuisine. It's a definite must-visit for anyone seeking an explosion of flavors with a spicy twist. Cannot recommend this place enough so I've also included their full menu!

I think this place has the closest flavour if you are craving for the following : - Indonesian style ayam Goreng - Indonesian style sambal - Indonesian style nasi Goreng - Indonesian style grill beef ribs - Indonesian deep style fried fish Smack bang in the middle of the Lygon street and surrounded by lots of other Indonesian street food place such as "martabak pecenongan" and "Indonesian style Gelato aka Beku". Highly recommended this place and have referred lots of my non Indo friend to satisfy their craving here.

Daniyeru's Detailed Review: Customer Service 3.5/5 *Served by the older lady, can't say it was hospitable but can't say it was bad. But great food usually means less service as focus is on food and not service like with a lot of Asian restaurants! Food 4.5/5 *Nasi Goreng Satay Chicken 3.5/5 - The skewers were absolutely amazing, however it was just Luke warm which means it is premade skewers. However, taste was phenomenal with a fresh runny egg! Rice itself I think lacked flavour, so I found myself using the peanut sauce and it made the dish upgraded! *Tahu Telor Special 5/5 (Tofu Egg Scramble with Peanut Sauce) this was absolutely delicious and have never seen presentation like this for a casual eatery. *Peanut sauce was really delicious and it was so good that I used it as extra sauce for my rice as that lacked a punch in flavour. * Value 3/5 *Approximately $18 for the Nasi Goreng, I don't think it was worth it. Skewers were definitely, the egg, but the rice lacked flavour. Huge portion though! *Scrambled Tofu and Egg was $14, I would definitely request everyone to order this or you will regret! Atmosphere 4/5 *Feels like a franchise, but still local at the same time and authentic Indonesian customers and staff here which is a good indicator of authentic food. Overall *I would definitely be coming again! But not for the Nasi, they have a huge menu so I will be coming back to try more and more!

I always come back to this authentic Indonesian restaurant! The Ayam mercon + cendol durian are my comfort foods. Thanks for existing in Melbourne, Dpenyetz. Their tahu telor with peanut sauce was super amazing, too, really complete with protein and tastiness

One of my favourite Indonesian restaurants outside of Indonesia. It's great for delivery and for dining in. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I love the mie goreng.

It's definitely a good place to go if you missed Indonesian food. They also have many seafood varieties now. I personally recommend this restaurant for them who love authentic Indonesian dishes. Friendly service and fast too. Well done.

The best signature fish ever! If you can add more extra sauce on the side that’ll be perfect.. Not many dish i really want to eat again soon even not finish yet. My friends went there again only clam both of them.
