Kenangan started as a Family Passion Project during Covid-19 to cater Indonesian Food Lover. Due to Travel Restrictions and Lockdowns, people are not able to Travel to Indonesia and struggle to access Indonesian Food. Hence the name Kenangan, which means Reminiscing/Remembering We started off selling and delivering Vacuum-Packed ready to heat Indonesian Meals to literaly Bring Indonesia to your Home. As the Lockdown eased, due to the local demand we established a Physical Store to Bring Indonesia "Home" as Home is where your heart is.

Great Indonesian food establishment. Ribs ordered are super tender, flavourful, and portion size is huge. The meat is well marinated and well cooked dish all around. Chilli and spices are on point. Seating is a challenge during lunch time but it is worth the wait.

Yesterday my friend and I had dinner. We ordered the best Igar Bakar Kecap and Ayam Goreng Kreme so freaken good, favourable food, affordable price. Must try craving for more the next day. To the young gentlemen yesterday that serves us was welcoming and deserves a price rise, boss if you are reading this. Your food is delicious and we will be coming back for more food and takeaway.

Casual yummy dining - great place to meet friends. Authentic Indonesian food - a huge range including vegetarian options. Gets busy on weekend. If you donโt know what to order, ask for help - theyโre lovely people. Also, check out the authentic Indonesian drinks too - Lots of amazing gems. Highly recommended.

My partner and I have been coming here every fortnight since our first visit earlier this year, and Kenangan never disappoints! The food and warm, welcoming atmosphere always remind us of home-cooked hospitality. We canโt go past the Nasi Campur and Ayam Bakar Kecap, paired with an Es Kopi Susu - itโs our go-to order every time!

Great spot to get delicious Indonesian food. I ordered their soto ayam and it was a welcome dish during in the cold weather. Do note, the soto does not come with rice so make sure you order it with rice to complete the dish. In terms of taste, the broth was flavored well and the chicken was tender and delicious. I highly recommend their soto.

We ate at Kenangan multiple times during our stay in the Melbourne CBD as the food was simply delicious! We highly recommend the beef ribs and grilled barramundi which were so tender and flavourful they melt in the mouth. Service was super friendly and welcoming, the only negative I would say is the seating arrangement inside is awkward with the one large table, meaning sometimes youโre sat directly opposite random people when itโs busier. We will definitely be back again when we visit the city and highly recommend if youโre looking for outstanding Indonesian food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kenangan in Queen Victoria Market, and I must say, their Indonesian dishes are incredibly authentic and delicious. Each bite of the comfort food took me back home, reminding me of the rich flavors and warmth of my childhood. The location is perfect, nestled in one of Melbourneโs iconic spots, making it a delightful experience overall. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, enhancing the enjoyment of every meal. I highly recommend Kenangan to anyone looking for a taste of Indonesia right in the heart of Melbourne.

Affordable dinner place in the CBD! Here is one of my favourites Indonesian restaurants, the staff looks friendly, the environment is quiet and clean. Highly recommended the ribs and Avocado smoothie.

Great Indonesian restaurant located at Queen Vic market. Food is incredible and servings generous. Easy online ordering service when you sit down at your table. Food arrives quite fast. You have to collect your own cutlery, napkins and water. I think it would be a nicer experience if they did some waiting like normal restaurants

Unlike a lot of Indonesian restaurants in Melbourne that specialise solely in Balinese food, dishes here are served from across Indonesia. They brings great and homely Indonesian food to you that is authentic and incredibly delicious. Grilled to perfection, the Nasi Rendang slow-cooked beef brisket broke away with the touch of the fork. The Ayam Bakar Kecap was both sweet and savoury and served with your choice of sambal. In fact I loved that they have five types of sambal to choose from including sambal balado, what still is a rare find in Melbourne! And if you're unsure of what sambal goes best with what dish, the staff were more than happy to assist to assess both flavour and your ability to handle the heat. The Sate Plecing chicken skewers were the right amount of saucey which I couldn't help but pour over the steamed rice. And anything fried eggplant is a winner in my opinion. Especially this fried eggplant which wasn't oily in the slightest. Just like an upmarket warung from the motherland, and even though ordering is done through a table QR code, the vibe is warm and welcoming and just like an Indonesian meal without sambal, not to go here for that long awaited Indonesian food date night is unthinkable!

The best Indonesian food Iโve ever had! The food here is so cheap and so tasty! My favourite dish here is the iga bakar kecap (angus prime ribs) is very tender and tasty. You must try the dessert too!! Roti Bakar Kenangan (Toasted Bread with yummiest fillings) is so yummy. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance- there is also indoor seating as well. Food came out quickly and service waa excellent!

Stumbled upon this Indonesian gem near Queen Vic Marketโand Iโm so glad I did. The Sate Ayam was incredible: smoky, juicy, and drowning (in the best way) in rich peanut sauce. The Iga Goreng Kremes (crispy fried beef ribs) were fall-off-the-bone tender with a satisfying crunch. The fried duck? So crispy it could moonlight as a potato chip. Drinks like Soda Gembira and Avocado with palm sugar were sweet, creamy, and just fun to drink. And that Roti Bakar Kejuโcrispy, gooey, cheesyโbasically dessert royalty. Authentic, affordable, and packed with flavor. Canโt wait to come back. If youโve never had Indonesian food beforeโthis is the place to start!

The service was nice, the food proportion was good, you could smell and taste the flavours (I enjoyed the food a lot). However, it was quite hard to eat when I donโt wanna get my hands messy. For recommendations, I do recommend getting the โAyam Bakar Jimbaranโ and trying out their other menu options. Drinks are also yummy !!

Haven't tried Indonesian cuisine yet? It's right in front of Queen Victoria Market! It was my first time trying it too, and it was really amazing! The spices in satay were a bit strong for me, but the meat was really tender. The skewers with rich juices were my friend's favorite dish. The crispy chicken and barbecue, sprinkled with various powders, were unbelievably delicious. If you're confused by the various sauce options, you can choose by looking at the pictures in front of the counter! Enjoy the perfect authentic Indonesian cuisine!

This is my second time at this restaurant, it is as good as I remember it! Tried many different dishes, this place definitely has the best Indonesian food in Melbourne! The grilled beef is tender, juicy and deliciously flavoured, it's a must have.

One of my friends recommended that I come and visit this restaurant. The food is amazing and also really quick as well. The service is excellent. I really recommend Tempe Mendoan and also the fried meat balls as the entreรฉ then with the main course, duck betutu and rice, the kenangan fried rice and also angus prime beef ribs is delicious. Overall, dining experience in kenangan restaurant really impressed me with how good and authentic the flavor of the food is. I really recommend coming and visiting this place with your family and friends, you won't regret it.

The staff are very friendly and courteous. The food is actually ordered via QR code and the website. If it's not technically possible, there are menus and you can order at the counter. We had an advocado smoothie with cane sugar and an orange/pinapple drink. Both drinks were freshly prepared and were very, very tasty. For our main course we had a Nasi Pecel Vegetarian and a Nasi Campur Bali. Both dishes were very tasty.

They have a big communal table in the middle and smaller tables on sides. Thereโs also outside seating available. Food was good although a pit on pricier side compared to other similar restaurants. It was good but not an overwhelming experience for us.

Was craving some Indonesian and they absolutely smashed it, quick service lovley atmosphere, small restaurant and there's one big table in the middle for people to sit next to and share space, also a window bar area, wished they had individual tables but love the community aspect to it. The only downside is there's no toilet and I had to go to the maccas across the road to go but is what it is. Delicious food nonetheless, so tasty!!

Kenangan might just be Melbourneโs best-kept Indonesian food secret. ๐ฎ๐ฉโจ Tucked away in the CBD, this spot serves up rich, comforting flavors thatโll transport you straight to Indonesia. From smoky grilled ribs to refreshing shaved ice, every bite hits different. If youโre after bold spices, tender meats, and that signature Indonesian warmth, youโll want to pull up a seat here! The ๐ธ๐๐ ๐ฑ๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐ + ๐๐๐๐ was a standoutโfall-off-the-bone tender with that perfect balance of sweet, sticky, and smoky goodness. And donโt sleep on the ๐๐๐๐ ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐ โitโs like a pink, fizzy hug in a glass. ๐
