Great flavours and friendly service The food was delicious—authentic, Halal and full of flavour (solid 4/5). Staff were super friendly and welcoming, and service was fast. Cleanliness could be a little better, but overall a great experience. Will visit again !

Such a hidden gem in Hampton Park! The food was 10/10 everything was packed with flavour. I loved the beef ribs & the avocado drink. We waited 15-20 mins for our food which was not too bad. This place is also halal which is a plus as my partner is Muslim. The staff were very warm & welcoming :) We will definitely come back again!

My 3rd visit to the popular Indonesian restaurant within a month. Tried most of the grilled and stir-fry dishes. Very generous servings. The tender Iga bakar just fell off the bone. The sambal chilli is spot on. The fried banana fritter is a must try. The food presentation and taste really stand out. The food range caters for all ages. My youngest daughter aged 10 loves the non-spicy mie goreng with egg. The service from the lady boss and staff is very warmed and welcoming. The restaurant is neat and clean. Plenty of parking around the premises. Will definitely visit to try other dishes.

What we ordered: Pastel - Crispy, flaky, and stuffed with veggies & beef. Decent, but could use more filling. 7/10 Nasi Uduk Komplit w/ Beef Rendang - The MVP! Coconut rice so fragrant, and that rendang? Melt-in-your-mouth magic.9.5/10 Mie Goreng Betawi w/Ayam - Sweet, smoky, and packed with umami. That grilled chicken? Chef's kiss. 9/10 Sate Kambing - Great flavor, but a little on the chewy side.7/10 Pisang Goreng - Crispy, caramelized, and low-key addictive. Perfect way to end the meal. Verdict: If you're into rich,homey Indonesian eats, this spot is worth the visit. Just be ready to battle for a table-it gets busy! Worth it? 100%! Overall: 8.5/10 -Would definitely return! Very nice people and warm welcome when you enter. The food is 10/10, made with love, fresh and tasty. The staff here are lovely people very welcoming and nice. Highly satisfied with the food and staff. Recommend coming and eating here! Had a great experience! 😊

It was my first time coming here, and I was so happy to see a 'lesehan'. The food here is amazing, one of the best Indonesian restaurants in Victoria. The lady who served us was very kind and friendly. We ordered mi goreng ayam, soto mie and sate kambing, they are delicious.

This is my second time coming here and the experience is still as amazing as my first time! This time i ordered Nasi Ulam and Pastel. They taste incredible!! Hands down the most authentic Indonesian food I’ve had in Melbourne. The owner is also amazing, very lovely and helpful! I will definitely coming back again!

Authentic and good price for a huge portion! Recommend the Ketoprak ($18) and Tempe mendoan ($13). We got the spicy beef Fried Rice too — didnt taste as spicy but the portion is the biggest in Melbourne. Cendol is soft and not too sweet. Portion was big and filling, we had to take away. Kind friendly service too. Will come back to try out other menus

the food is very delicious. the staff is also very friendly. the soto betawi is very delicious especially when you eat in the cold weather. The smells of ayam penyet is so good and it’s perfect with the sambal (chilli sauce). If you go to Hampton Park you must to eat here. So so good 🤤👌🏻

Return visit. One of the most delicious and authentic Indonesian restaurant within Hallam VIC area. Ordered the fried fish deal, fried chicken with chip for kids, cincau drink and iced tea. The fish deal was big, included with fried tempe and tofu, as well as sour soup. It was big portion for 2 adults. The fried chicken has been spiced as Indonesian style and big size for kid. The drinks were wonderful. The dining area is clean and tidy. They also sell the Indonesian snacks. Unfortunatelly they run out the martabak and martabak manis Don Don. Definitely recommended..

I had the pleasure of trying the Tongseng Lamb and Cendol Ice at Pondok Betawi Indonesian Restaurant in Hampton Park, and I was truly impressed! The Tongseng Lamb was delicious, full of rich, authentic flavors that really showcase the depth of traditional Indonesian cuisine. The Cendol Ice was the perfect sweet finish to the meal, refreshing and flavorful. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving a genuine taste of Indonesia!

As an Indonesian who has lived in Melbourne for over a decade—and a big fan of batagor—I can confidently say that Pondok Betawi serves the most authentic and delicious batagor in the city. I’ve tried many versions across Melbourne, but none come close to the flavour, texture, and nostalgia this one brings. Also, don’t miss out on their other home-cooked Indonesian meals—everything tastes just like how it’s made back home. Highly recommended for anyone craving a true taste of Indonesia!

This is the best Indonesian food I’ve ever tried in Melbourne. The food was so comforting and tasted just like it does in Indonesia. I’ll definitely come back here whenever I miss Indonesian food.
