such a hidden gem! came here for lunch and it was so lovely to sit in the sun. i had the vegan mushroom melt and my friend had the chicken satay. both were delicious! the service was really great and fast. i also really appreciate how the vegan option had vegan cheese + nuttelex. the flavours are super unique and the sandwiches are well priced. will definitely be returning!

If you’re looking for a cozy spot in Richmond, Warkop Melbourne is the place to be! This charming café has quickly become a favorite among locals and workers alike, especially during lunchtime. Their delicious sandwiches and mouthwatering desserts are simply irresistible, and the coffee is brewed to perfection every time. Plus, the friendly staff always make you feel right at home!

What a quaint little place, tucked somewhere in a lane. You’ll definitely miss it. Had the Beef Brisket & Pickle, which is a rendition of the pastrami on rye with a rendang sauce. And also the Gado Gado sandwich. Coffee was decent, But the sandwiches were the highlight. The lunch combo made the meal even better.

Couldn’t stop drooling over their SAMBAL MERAH FRIED BUTTERMILK CHICKEN sandwich! Literally the best Indo-inspired sandwich I’ve tasted. Super light & crispy buttermilk-battered chicken paired with creamy stracciatella and a house-made, fiery sambal merah bursting with flavour! 😍🔥👏🏻

Plenty of street parking, a handful of tables to sit down and eat and lots of people taking away. The batch brew paired well with the sandwiches, the Gado Gado sandwich was very balanced and tasted like a high quality Gado Gado in sandwich form. We loved the mortadella sandwich and how the bread was soft and fluffy, the mix of textures and flavours was just divine. Highly recommend this little cafe.

Warkop - Warkop Fried Chicken $17 🍗 - Warkop Steak Sandwich $19 (Special) 🥩 - Soy Latte $5.5 ☕️ Went to Warkop for their special steak sandwich over the weekend. It was mind-blowingly delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked paired with a spicy green sambal, tangy garlic mustard and fried potato for extra crunch. Every mouthful was packed with flavours. The fried chicken was equally amazing. It was marinated with turmeric and fried to perfection. I wish their bread was served warm. They had nice coffees too. Would absolutely return for their sangas!

Insta: markandelly_eats Found this quiet sandwich joint called @warkop_melbourne in Richmond! A former Navi sous chef opened this one, putting Indonesian-inspired flavours into sandwiches. The absolute star is their Chicken Taliwang Sandwich. I'm not familiar with Taliwang spice, but my gf, who is, said it was spot on - hella authentic. I personally wanted it to more pungent and distinctive - but understandable considering their target audience. They nailed the perfect balance. Rare Beef Roll was also pretty good - they chucked tons of beef into a roll which is a huge plus in my book. Honestly tasted like I was having a bowl of Beef Pho in the form of a sandwich. My GF loved their kaya toast! Soft brioche bread with gooey coconut jam - you just can't hate on those bad boys. A special shout out to their "Bazzinga Sauce" ($2). That secret sauce really brought out more flavours from all the sandwiches we had. Wished it was complimentary though.

Indonesian inspired sandwiches with a wide variety of options from fried chicken sandwich to slow cooked lamb to gado gado sanwich. Different bread options as well from foccacia to potato rolls. We also enjoyed the kaya toast with homemade srikaya. The palm sugar basque cheesecake was also super cheesy and unique! Really enjoyed our time here!

An interesting take to kaya toast where they use brioche buns and rice bubbles instead of the conventional kaya jam and thick slab of butter with thin toasted bread I also tried their specials - fillet of fish burger. It was excellent, an upgraded version of maccas fillet o fish using Martin’s potato roll, crispy juicy fish fillet and a classic American style cheese. The sambal dressing they use had a nice kick to it but it was too spicy 🥵 for me but I’m sure others who love their chillis would have enjoyed it. Alfalfa sprouts they used have a refreshing taste to the overall ensemble. I have also tried their chicken sandwich before, the sourdough was very nicely toasted, chicken was juicy although I thought they might have been a bit light with their seasoning. Still good though and I love how they wrap their sandwiches so nicely for take away. They make really nice salad too with lots of flavours!

Been several times getting coffees, finally tried their 10am hit sandwiches, tried the chicken, pork and the meatball special. Chicken was amazing, great spice, pork one was great, the meatball one was very interesting, tasted decent amount of lemongrass in the meatball, probably more of the parmigiano and reggiano would have elevated a bit more but overall was super tasty. Service was excellent, they just feel like a very family orientated business, probably one of my top favourite sanga places in Melbourne now. Coffees great as well. Keep up the great work!

@warkop_melbourne is such a great find 😍💎☕️🥪 🇮🇩 ! It’s hidden on a quiet street next to a car park away from the Richmond hustle and bustle yet it was still popular with locals and offices nearby. Thoroughly enjoyed the indo inspired sandwiches!! Their coffees were also brilliant. Met the lovely owners who are also so friendly and passionate about their menu. The Chicken and Limited edition weekend special Duck were my faves! The kaya toast is also a winner 😍 the homemade kaya is absolute bomb- and mixed with rice bubbles it was such a treat. 😍🤍🥪🇮🇩✌🏻☕️😋 the fresh rare beef roll was good but I always prefer a warm sandwich 😄😍! “Warkop” is short for a place where you enjoy snacks and coffee in Indonesia. Such a super cute cosy spot. All menu items are $16 and under so very reasonable too!!

Legit one of the BEST sandwhich joints I have ever tried. Their sandwhiches are crispy with juicy tender meats and an EXPLOSION of Asian fusion flavours inside. The Indonesian flavour twist is something really unique I have never come across but works so well. Plus all their meats (beef, chicken lamb and pastrami) are all halal which is Amazing. I will be coming back here again and AGAIN!

The best toastie I have had so far! I was keen to try this place because I’ve never had Indonesian inspired flavours in a sandwich before First bite into the Slow cooked lamb and it was amazing! The taste of green curry was delicious. Definitely worth it. Will definitely be going back to try the fried chicken and fish fillet because it was sold out.

Slightly tucked on a smaller street just off Victoria street is this cosy sandwich shop. The main draw is the beef rendang sandwich but I opted for the classic fried chicken on a milk bun. Great flavours with crispy chicken on a soft, fluffy bun. This location is slightly far away from me but I’m glad there is an CBD outpost that is closer to work.

PorkBelly sandwich was super delicious. We wanted to try the chicken too but it was sold out that day. Coffee is good as well. Definitely come back to try another items.

We came here because we had heard this was the best sandwich shop in Melbourne and it did not disappoint. The hype is justified, the beef sandwich has set a new bar in excellence. Staff are super nice too and it's probably for the best I don't live too close or I would be here all the time.

Great coffee. My personal view is their special turmeric fried chicken schnitzel burger was their best creation yet - what great integration of Indonesian flavours and everyday western food! We also usually order the chicken taliwang - occasionally the chicken slices can be a bit dry, but the flavours are definitely there. I also love to order the kaya toast as a starter - the kaya and buns are amazing! Would come back for more.

An absolute must try - great service and fantastic coffee. The chicken taliwang and the beef pastrimi are mouth watering and should be on everyone’s order! So happy to have these indo inspired sandwiches on the Melbourne food scene. The kaya toast has a delightful surprise in it as well and I would reccomended trying that as well. Best eaten straight away, you will not regret it!

Wow! Warkop is an absolute hidden gem. Indonesian sandwiches are a game changer and it’s an excellent alternative if you want a change from the classic reuben sangas. 🥪 Chicken sandwich with Taliwang spice, green tomato and rocket - YUM as. I’ve never had a sanga like this and this was one to remember. V keen to try their classic beef reuben with rendang sauce next. I literally only discovered this place by accident was I was walking down an alleyway and saw a line outside this shop. And to my pleasant surprise, it was a sandwich shop - Melbourne

They serve really good food and coffee here. My fkat white was nicely done and my sandwiches were made to perfection. This place was busy when we came, but the staff were very attentive and friendly to every customer. Will come again in the future to try other items in the menu.

I really like what they're doing here, down a quiet Richmond side street. It's Indonesian food (which I love) meets Melbourne cafe. The rare beef roll is probably my favourite of the sandwiches so far - the others tend to be a little heavy for my liking, but it's all been good. The service is always super friendly and ordering via the website is easy.

Loved both the beef rendang and the confit duck leg👌The duck one was smaller but absolutely delicious~I've tried another duck sandwich elsewhere and it was nowhere near this. Will definitely go back
