YOI is a vibrant and upbeat Indonesian-fusion restaurant smack-bang in the middle of Melbourne CBD. Translated to mean ‘yes!’, YOI serves Indonesian fusion delicacies. We serve traditional family recipes with a twist, with imported ingredients and spices made in-house. What started as a fun humble project to create tasty salted egg yolk sauce became a turning point for the two brothers Dion and Michael. That, and a combined passion for cooking and a strong affinity for Indonesian cuisine was the recipe to YOI’s successful family venture.

First time visited here after I asked Recommendation from google for Indonesian restaurant . Such friendly service accompanied by a wide range selection of Indonesian fusion dishes. Five star for the service , the waitress really really kind and friendly but 3 star for the food. I had their tempe mendoan (which I found to be too crispy for mendoan tempe but otherwise it was okay) , and meatballs (which is not as good as back at home, there was more flour than the mince beef itself so doesn’t feel like eating bakso, the soup also a bit bland ) and pandan martabak (I chose cheese and Nutella as the toppings). Maybe next time I will try to order other dishes and see how is the taste.

Very nice Indonesian restaurant tucked away at the bottom of a tall building. This has to be one of the most authentically flavored restaurants I have come come across in a while. Very nicely put together dishes with a plethora of flavors. Reasonably priced, friendly service. What more could you ask for. Well worth checking out.

We ordered their sate padang, salted egg burger, beef ribs, matcha martabak & matcha lattes 😋 Their Indonesian foods are authentic and some of them have an interesting twist as well! 🍔 Salted egg burger: the bun was so soft and the beef patties were juicy, the creamy & savoury salted egg sauce made it even better. The salted egg fries was also yummy and addictive, highly recommended! 🥩 Beef ribs: tender beef ribs in sweet soy sauce, the sambal was spicy just like the one in Indo 😍 🍢Sate padang: the meat was so tender and perfectly smoky, the sauce was so good just like the one in Indo! 🍰 Martabak matcha: martabak with creamy matcha filling, banana and biscuit crumbs. The martabak was fluffy and I love how it’s not too greasy! 🍵 for the pistachio matcha latte, we could really taste the pistachio & none of that artificial flavour. The salty foam matcha was also delicious, the sweet matcha latte with the salty foam combo was unexpectedly so good! P.S. the customer service here was top notch, we accidentally spilled our drink but the staffs were so nice and even offered to replace it! 🥹

This Indonesian food is so good. Every time I go there I always feel satisfied with the quality and the taste of the food. But sometimes its just too loud for me to enjoy it because too many people inside and the space between us are too small. Overall it's a good restaurant and a great place to have some Indonesian food.

Very nice Indonesian restaurant with modern and sleek setting. They also have outdoor seating. Food was good and customer service was great. I would be going there again.

YOI is hands down one of the best Indonesian spots I’ve ever been to, everything was so flavourful, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. I don’t say this often, but I’d 100% come back in a heartbeat. This is what we had: Geprek Kecombrang with Nasi Daun Jeruk ($21) - crispy chicken that was smashed, with a bold sambal, paired with the most fragrant kaffir lime leaf rice. Every bite was layered with flavour and spice and is a MUST try. Mie Goreng Salted Egg Chicken ($23.5) - was rich, savoury, and packed with that addictive salted egg umami. Perfectly cooked noodles with juicy pieces of chicken — just comfort food at its finest. Beef Rendang with Roti Prata ($16.5) - tender beef with spicy sauce, the roti was perfect to use to scoop up that sauce. Salted Foam Strawberry Matcha ($8.5) - super creamy strawberry foam on a good matcha. I actually really liked the slight saltiness of the foam, it worked really well Ice Lychee Tea ($16.5) - this was 1 whole litre, yes, 1L, it was not too sweet and was perfect to balance out the spice. Martabak with Matcha & Oreos ($20.5) - This was my first time trying martabak and I thought it was pretty nice! Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, with a matcha-oreo combo that actually works beautifully. Honestly, everything was on point — from presentation to portion size to the flavours. You can taste the care and authenticity in every dish. YOI is an absolute gem for Indonesian food lovers.

So many delicious options — couldn’t pick a favorite! Everything from the ayam gulai to the sambal and tofu was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. A true taste of Indonesia with a modern twist. Craving more already! 🌶️🍛🍗 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I rarely go to the city but when I do, I'm on the lookout for Indonesian food and hospitality. I have wanted to try bubur ayam for a while now and I was not dissapointed at YOI. Wow, so good!!! It was well presented, super warming on a cold day, filling and had lots of subtle flavours going on. The staff were friendly and attentive, made me feel welcome and even tolerated my attempts to speak Indonesian (poorly😂sedikit bahasa saja) My one regret is that I should have ordered some roti bakar or martabak to take home for the kids....oh well, next time. Makasih banyak untuk makanan enak di resto kalian, saya akan kembali lagi ya😁

Tried the Iga Bakar (beef ribs) ($22), and the flavor was on point! The sweet marinade was so good I could’ve easily had two bowls of rice with it. That said, the ribs could’ve been a bit more tender. The Martabak - Original ($19) for takeaway was a pleasant surprise. The pancake was thick, fluffy, and super satisfying. I went with peanuts and Nutella as toppings, and they paired perfectly! The service was great and I’ll return to try their other signature food!

I liked the different flavour dishes of this restaurant. They provide flavourful dishes. Please be cautious about the chilli level, if you love hot then perfect suggestion. I love the hot and spices so I liked their dishes.

An Indonesian restaurant that you can find when you miss Indonesian food. The taste might not be an authentic Indonesian taste buds, but it’s definitely a clean taste of Indonesian food. Most foreigners would love this taste as it gives off a new modern fusion taste. Vegetarian options are readily available for you, as you can also request any concern in regards of your food preferences

Was introduced to this delight by some friends and definitely not disappointed. Each time I've visited the food has been top notch and the staff very welcoming. I have not been let down with any of the recommendations from staff or my friends. We are so blessed to have such a diverse food culture in Melbourne.

We had a lovely dinner at YOI! Their special of the month is the Mie Curry, a perfect harmony of savory noodles, aromatic spices, and just the right kick of curry heat! We also tried the Martabak Tipker, a crispy thin pancake dessert filled with toppings of your choice 😋 We picked the kaya and crushed peanuts which were delicious! What we ordered: - Rice Salted Egg Chicken - Mie Curry - Tempe Mendoan - Martabak Tipper - Salted Foam Hojicha - Es Kalapa (Iced Coconut)

Food was amazing. Service was excellent. Delicious variation of Indonesian Fusion dishes. So far all the dishes I ordered were delicious. Martabak was very tasty, it’s a must try.

First thing we gotta do when we landed in Melbourne is visiting this Indonesian restaurant. I loved everything here. What else I can say? The staff were friendly and it’s just great experience! Definitely coming back again from Adelaide! 😊

Located in Franklin St, Melbourne, Yoi is a nice restaurant and a good place for taking the kids. The dishes we ordered were the Mie Goreng Salted Egg Chicken, Squid Ink Salted Egg Noodles and Yoi Chilli Crab Noodle. For drinks we got Ice Lychee Tea and an Iced Tea. The smells of each dish was fantastic. We couldn’t wait to start eating! Great presentation. Delicious comfort food. At around $20-$22, the size and quality of each plate is good value. For dessert we shared the Sweet Martabak with Nutella and cheese. Smelled so good. A very different texture and taste. Enjoyable. Would be great with a coffee! Friendly staff. Some of the dishes were delivered to the table by a robot. That was fun to see. The dishes came out pretty quickly. Good presentation. Fantastic flavours. Loved all the dishes. Tasty and affordable. We love visiting this place. We thank Yoi for having us. We experienced Yoi as guests, and all of our opinions are genuine and are based on our experience at the time of our visit.

These are just some of the foods that I took pictured in this place. I visited this place quite a lot of times. Whenever I'm craving for authentic Indonesian cuisine, I always go back to this place. One of the dish that I would recommend anyone to try is Nasi Goreng Kebuli. Please do try this one if you like a smoky, fragrant, umami taste of fried rice. This is one of the dish that I always repeat order whenever I go here. It's just taste that good!

Just wow. Food was excellent.. I got the Chicken Curry - Ayam Gulai & (NEW) Gulai Fried Chicken. Needless to say chicken curry was delicious with flavour and the fried chicken with rice was so crispy and fresh… staff were friendly and smiling. Will definitely recommend
